Pharmacy hours: Walgreens pharmacy closes on Boxing Day
Pharmacy chains including Walgills and Boots are closing their doors on Boxing day.
It comes as pharmacies across the country have seen record volumes of prescriptions.
There are a number of reasons for the closures, including a tightening of pharmacy hours, with some stores having closed at 5am to cope with demand.
However, with so many shops closing on a busy Boxing day, it is difficult to know exactly how many people are using their medication, said Dr Robert Hallam, director of the Health Protection Agency.
“I’m not sure exactly how big a proportion of people are being treated for medication, but we do know there are a significant number of people who are not taking their medication,” he said.
What to do if you are having a problem with your medication: If you have a problem, you should contact your GP or pharmacist, he said, as there is a “high likelihood” they can provide assistance.
You can also talk to your doctor if you have questions about your medication or treatment.
If your pharmacist is not available, you can contact the nearest hospital pharmacy, including the pharmacy you are taking your medication from.
Talk to your GP about your prescription if you think your prescription may not be accurate, he advised.
Dr Hallam said it was also important to make sure you are using the right medication, particularly if you take a prescription that is not compatible with your symptoms.
“Some of these medications may be unsuitable for you, so it’s important to seek advice from a doctor if the medication is not suitable for you,” he explained.
The latest figures from the Australian Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority show that the average retail price of a prescription was $22.50 in the first three months of 2017.
But a recent study from the University of New South Wales showed that prices have gone up more than 60 per cent since the early 1990s.
A number of factors are to blame for the high cost of prescription medication, including rising prices for the drugs and the cost of drugs to the healthcare system.
When you are sick, your doctor can prescribe your medication, with prices being determined by the type of medication you are receiving.
Dr Hallom said there were also many different types of medicines, and if a particular medication is prescribed for you it would need to be tested by a specialist to determine if it is safe and effective.
“There are drugs that have the potential to cause serious side effects, and we have a number that can cause life-threatening side effects,” he told the ABC.
“It’s important that you are aware of all the potential side effects and take precautions when you are trying to take your medication.”
In addition to that, it’s very important to remember that you should not give up on taking your medications, especially if you need to do so, and be patient.
“If you do need to stop taking your medicine, you are still entitled to have the medicines tested, so you will be getting that information from your pharmaceutically registered prescriber.”
What to expect at the end of your medication time: “We have heard from many people who say they have not been able to get enough sleep, and some of them have had difficulty concentrating, said Mr Graham.”
They say they are worried about their ability to function in the future, and this is very important, as this is an area that we all need to address, particularly when you have high levels of stress.
“”Some people are having trouble concentrating and getting a little bit stressed, and these are people who might not be aware that they might need to take their medication at the correct time,” he added.
In some cases, people might feel they need to go to bed earlier in the day or stay home if they have a serious illness, such as a heart attack, or stroke, he explained, but the reality is that you need more sleep and the right dose of medication to help manage your symptoms, he added
